PTA Board for 2019 – 2020 

Congrats to all our new members.  President – Stephen Burrows, VP 1 – Stella Mulhollan, VP 2 – Mandie Kellerman, Secretary – Denise Rangel and Treasurer – Sujei Llanos.

We have a couple of chair positions open if anyone is interested.

PTA Chair Positions Available 

  • Dance chair – 3 set dances ( fall theme in Oct, semi formal in Dec & fun theme in March )  Need to be held after school from 4 – 6 pm.  Semi formal from 6 – 8 pm.   Decorate the cafeteria and lower commons 230 – 330.  Sell tickets during the week & at the door.  VIP status includes food voucher.
  • Concessions chair – Run concessions stand – open & close – volunteers to help run it.  Stock & restock concessions stand with cost effective food choices that maximize profits.  Set up for all home games for Basketball & Volleyball season ( boys & girls games ) at school.   Also open during dances.  This chair is run more efficiently with another person to divide the duties and running concessions stand.
  • Communications chair – prepare and send out the PTA BUZZ weekly.  May change to every other week.  Update and maintain this website.   Postings on facebook to keep people in the loop about event & help needed – posting pics and links.
  • Clothes Closet Chair –  Setting up and maintaining the lost and found area bi weekly.  Need to get leadership students involved with helping keep this area neat and tidy.  Volunteer monthly at the clothes closet ( set day for 2 hours ) at Voight Elementary.


The winner of our t-shirt design contest was Morgan Go.  We are so excited to have everyone wearing her design.  Thank you Morgan for sharing your creative design. Picture of design is posted on our PTA facebook page.


This is a GREAT / NO HASSLE way to raise money for our school.  Last year we earned $162.00 with only a few people participating.  We almost have 100,000 points = $200.00  The more you snap – the more money we earn.   Some schools earn thousands of dollars because they get everyone involved.  Anyone can do this ………………………. SPREAD the WORD !!!! Our GOAL is 100,000 points but I know we can surpass that.

Would you like to volunteer at our amazing school?  If so, come visit our PTA table at the Back to School Bash and sign up.   Let us know how you can to help …. be on the BOARD, help out certain Board Members, volunteer at events or maybe just donate.  Just be involved will help you feel connected.  Be sure to buy  a PTA membership as well – your 8.00 helps us do all the wonderful things we do at Hopewell for the students & the staff.  Our parent volunteers are a huge resource and offer a terrific support base for the school community!  In order for you to be able to volunteer at the school / at an event – you must complete a volunteer background check.  Click the following link to get started  https://partners.roundrockisd.org/volunteer/   It takes a couple of days to process – then go see Alice in front office with your drivers license & she will scan it and put you into the raptor system.  Whenever you help out at the school with any event please sign in as VOLUNTEER and print off your badge.

School Supply Lists

School supply lists for each grade are posted on our schools website.  These same lists will be in the stores in August but you can shop NOW over the summer.  In August we will post the distribution lists for each grade level.  This list will tell which supplies go for which teacher and which supplies you give to your advisory teachers.  Each grade level has a 5.00 science lab fee which everyone will have to pay the 1st week of school.

Agendas will NOT be given out to all students this year.  Too many were lost or thrown away and many were not used by the students.  If your child needs an agenda – the dollar store or dollar general has nice ones at a great price.

School of Excellence

Hopewell Middle School PTA has been recognized by the National PTA as a “PTA School of EXCELLENCE”  for 2018 – 2020.  Mrs. Garinger & Lisa Bonnell graciously accepted the award at the RRISD PTA Council Luncheon in October 2018.
